1962 Oldsmobile Ninety-Eight Holiday Sport Coupe (2dr hardtop)
The Ninety-Eight (98) was the flagship of the Oldsmobile line in 1962 and throughout its existence which ended in the mid 1990s. “Unbelievable” and “Exceptional” can only be used to describe this beautiful Olds Ninety-Eight. This is a completely original, documented, 11500 mile classic but… you will not need documentation to clearly see that this car is as we say.
A Long Island NY car since new, you would think that the weather would have taken its toll on this car after nearly 55years. This is NOT the case here. This exceptionally well maintained two-owner car is a 100% rust free original that has with stood the test of time in every respect. No rust, no dings or dents ever! This two owner car has never been in an accident. Not even a scratch is evident. The chrome is original and immaculate. We believe it may have had a repaint in its original color several decades ago but are not sure. The paint is beautiful. The interior is 100% original and immaculate. Every feature and gauge works as it should including the color coded liquid speedometer and odometer. Windows roll easily, doors close tight. Body panels, hood, trunk and doors line up like new. The undercarriage is amazingly clean and reflects its low LOW mileage.
Features include Roto-Matic power steering, Pedal Ease power brakes, 4-S Hydramatic transmission, Deluxe steering wheel, Deluxe radio, two-speed wipers, power deck lid release, back-up lamps, full lighting package and much more…
Sold new by Mack Markowitz Oldsmobile in Hempstead NY to Bertie E. Kercherer of Massapequa NY on December 20th, 1961 by salesman Eric Saxon. Purchase price was $4520.94, a hefty price in 1961. This and other documentation including the original Window Sticker, original Bill of Sale, Protect-O-Plate, warranty booklet and owners manual are in tact and clearly legible. Both sets of original keys are also still with the car. This two owner car has never left Long Island.
Only regular maintenance items have been changed such as brakes, tires, tuneups, oil and other fluids. The famous 394ci Rocket engine starts, idles and runs perfectly. it drives smooth and straight at any speed, shifts easily and stops on a dime. This car needs absolutely nothing. There are NO disappointments!
