1963 FORD Galaxie XL 500 Fastback Hardtop Coupe
As they say, they are only original once. We are proud to offer this completely original unrestored Ford Galaxie XL 500 Fastback. This was a beautifully designed car in ’63 and still is today. The jet wings were out and this lean look was now in favor. This is a great looking car that went through a recent refresh from top to bottom with the objective being to keep it as a Survivor Class original. The factory paint color, Ford color code (Y) is called Glacier Blue. The hardtop is white. While their are road markings that reflect its 60 years of use, the exterior of this Galaxie XL 500 is super clean. The chrome and trim are in excellent condition with no pitting and all original. Those hood ornaments on the two front fenders are original and are rarely seen today. Most have the plastic replacements that are everywhere.
Better still, is the completely original interior. This Galaxie has just 52125 miles on it and it shows. The seats show little wear. The dashboard is clean and crisp and all features work as they should except the clock which probably stopped working on June 28th, one week after Mr Leroy Snyder Jr. took the car home to Jeffersonville Ohio on June 21st.
This Galaxie XL 500 came with the second highest engine option behind the 406/405. The factory 390ci FE engine came with a 4bbl carburetor and put out 300hp. On the center console came its original 3-speed automatic transmission and shifter. The car starts, runs and drives beautifully. No unwanted noises or rattles and no leaks. It drives straight and has more than enough power to easily keep up with todays traffic. Brakes are excellent and tires are 85%. The original hubcaps are still on the car.
This is an excellent example of one of Fords best back in the day. Call us with any questions or ask for a walk-around facetime video if you cant make it in and see it.
